East Lynn Lake was constructed primarily for flood control, water quality, fish management, and recreation. There are a total of 24,821 acres of project lands and waters at East Lynn. The West Virginia Department of Natural Resources manages 22,928 acres for Fish, Wildlife, and Forestry Management under a license agreement with the Corps of Engineers.

From Huntington: Rt. 152 South to Wayne, WV, then Rt. 37 to East Lynn Lake office and Visitor Center. See Map
